Construction worker falls and hits head in SoHo — but survives

by | Oct 29, 2018 | Construction Accidents

Another New York City construction worker was hurt in another preventable accident. This time, a worker suffered injury when he fell from the fourth floor to the third floor of a luxury rental building going up at 11 Greene Street in SoHo. The owner of the high-budget 31-unit project is Arch Companies.

The worker who fell — along with girders — was seen to be bleeding from the head and was taken to the hospital. Amazingly, his injuries were said to be minor, according to the Daily News, which reported the story.

The economics of New York real estate  — and the crisis of worker safety

New York City continues to experience a building boom, and housing prices have reached a fever pitch. At the same time, many workers lose their lives each year on city job sites because proper safety procedures are not followed by some contractors, who in turn work for money-hungry developers.

What you can do if you or your family member was hurt

The only thing worse than losing a loved one in an accident or experiencing a serious injury is feeling disrespected and denied justice regarding the injury. If you or a member of your family suffered a construction accident, is very important to seek legal advice. An experienced attorney can explain your legal rights, which may include the right to money damages through a third-party claim — a lawsuit.
